We encourage you to take advantage of our services.
- Who May Borrow: Library cards are free to all residents of Schuylkill County. To obtain a library card, a patron must show identification which includes a current address. Children under 14 years of age must have a parent or guardian co-sign the application. Borrowers are responsible for all material borrowed on their card.
- Using Your Library Card: Present your card, along with the materials you wish to borrow, at the circulation desk.
- Loan Period: Two days for video cassettes. Three weeks for all other materials.
- Fines: Printed material is charged at a rate of ten cents per day; maximum of $3.00 per item. Video tapes are charged $2.00 per day per title; maximum of $10.00.
- Interlibrary Loan: Interlibrary loan provides access to materials not owned by the Minersville Public Library. Requests are sent to the Pottsville Library via once a week delivery service.
Special Services
- Public Access Computers: 2 Internet access computers are available for public use. Time should be scheduled with Librarian to ensure availability. Printers can be used at a rate of ten cents a piece.
- Copy Machine: The photocopy machine is available
for public use. A donation is requested.
- Large Print Books: Popular fiction and non-fiction books available.
- Videos: Videos are available for a loan period of two days. These are changed every other month.
- Periodicals: Current subscriptions to 20 periodical titles.
- Educational Toys and Puzzles: A collection of educational toys and puzzles designed to develop a child's psychomotor skills, manual dexterity and coordination.
- Programs: The library offers weekly preschool storytimes and summer reading programs for children. Contact the library for the latest schedule.
