Explore Engineering: Girls in Engineering
June 17-20, 2019 8:30-11:30AM Grades 5-8 (Girls only)
Campers will get the opportunity to explore engineering through a variety of hands-on experiments. Using their creativity and logic, campers will participate in mini-challenges using the Engineering Design Process. On the last day of camp, the girls will be given the opportunity to talk with current women engineers. Campers will be able to ask questions as well as showcase their designs from the week.
Computer Science Exploration
June 17-20, 2019 12:00-3:00PM Grades 5-8
Campers will be introduced to introductory computer science concepts through the CS First curriculum. Students will learn through instructional videos, peer-to-peer learning and independent problem solving. Computer Science topics covered include, broadcasting, variables, events, control, randomness, loops and conditions. No prior experience with computer science is needed.
Literacy and STEM: Explore STEM
June 24-27, 2019 9:00-10:30 AM Grades K-2
During this 4 day, 1.5 hour sessions, campers will listen to a favorite picture book. Campers will then complete daily STEM design challenges that accompany the story. Using their creativity, and design skills, campers will collaborate with peers to increase their problem solving skills in this hands-on camp.
Creative Coding
July 8-11, 2019 8:30-11:30AM Grades 3-5
Join us for this introduction to coding! Campers will utilize Ozobots® to gain an understanding of writing code. In addition, campers will work with Sphero® robots through various challenges to continue their understanding of programming. This camp is an introduction for students. No prior experience with coding is necessary.
Movie Magic
July 15-18, 2019 8:30-11:30AM Grades 5-8
Students will create short films using stop motion animation, special effects, and green screens. The students will begin by mapping their ideas on a storyboard, but they will quickly move to creating short films that they can show their family and friends!
Nature’s Fury: EV3 Programming
July 15-18, 2018 12:00-3:00PM Grades 5-8
Join us for hands-on robotics challenges focused on rescue in the fury of nature’s storms! In small teams, campers will learn to build and program a LEGO® Mindstorm EV3 robot that will be able to carry out specific tasks. Each day campers will add more attachments and write new programs to accomplish additional tasks.
Early bird pricing is $80 for each camp or $150 for 2 camps if registered by March 29, 2019.
Prices increase effective March 30, 2019. Each camp will be $90 to attend; $160 if registering for 2 camps.Early bird price (Literacy and STEM Camp: Explore STEM) is $40 if registered by March 29, 2019.
