Animal Allies: EV3 Programming
July 9-12, 2018 8:30-11:30AM Grades 5-8
Join us for hands-on robotics challenges focused on exploring the interactions between humans and animals and how to make them better! In small teams, campers will learn to build and program a LEGO® Mindstorm EV3 robot that will be able to carry out specific tasks. Each day campers will add more attachments and write new programs to accomplish additional tasks.
Explore Engineering: Girls in Engineering
July 9-12, 2018 12:00-3:00PM Grades 5-8 (Girls only)
Campers will get the opportunity to explore engineering through a variety of hands-on experiments. Using their creativity and logic, campers will participate in mini-challenges using the Engineering Design Process. On the last day of camp, the girls will be given the opportunity to talk with current women engineers. Campers will be able to ask questions as well as showcase their designs from the week.
Literacy and STEM: Explore STEM
July 16-19, 2018 9:00-10:30 AM Grades K-2
During this 4 day, 1.5 hour sessions, campers will listen to a favorite picture book. Campers will then complete daily STEM design challenges that accompany the story. Using their creativity, and design skills, campers will collaborate with peers to increase their problem solving skills in this hands-on camp.
A “Bit” about Code: Introduction to Coding
July 16-19, 2018 12:00-3:00PM Grades 3-5
Join us for this introduction to coding! Campers will utilize Ozobots® to gain an understanding of writing code. In addition, campers will work with Sphero® robots through various challenges to continue their understanding of programming. This camp is an introduction for students. No prior experience with coding is preferred.
Explore Engineering: Let’s Build it!
July 23-26, 2018 8:30-11:30AM Grades 5-8
Join us for hands-on engineering challenges. Campers will explore with virtual reality, 3D design, and makedo kits while utilizing the Engineering Design Process. Each day campers will be given a different challenge to explore and test their engineering skills.
July 23-26, 2018 12:00-3:00PM Grades 5-8
Students will create short films using stop motion animation, special effects, and green screens. The students will begin by mapping their ideas on a storyboard, but they will quickly move to creating short films that they can show their family and friends!
Each camp is $90 to attend; $160 if registering for 2 camps. Registration ends June 15, 2018. (The Literacy and STEM Camp: Explore STEM is $45 with early bird pricing of $40.)
