Local Task Force
Local Task Force 29 serves families, school districts, and service providers in Schuylkill County. We come together to share knowledge, discuss rights, and strengthen the quality of education for children with special needs. Our goal is to empower families with insight, create meaningful connections, and amplify the voices of those with special needs in our community.
ABOUT LOCAL TASK FORCE 29
Support Families
- Provide families and caregivers with reliable information, training, and resources to help them make informed decisions for their children.
- Empower families to be active partners in their child’s education and development.
Share Information
- Communicate updates on special education services, workshops, and events at the local, regional, and state levels.
- Connect families with community programs and opportunities.
Promote Collaboration
- Bring together families, schools, and community agencies to work in partnership.
- Foster teamwork to identify solutions and strengthen support systems for students with special needs.
Advocate for Students
- Listen to local concerns and identify areas for improvement.
- Recommend enhancements to programs, services, and special education plans.
- Elevate concerns and suggestions to the State Task Force when appropriate.
Monitor and Support Progress
- Help schools uphold the Right to Education Agreement.
- Assist in tracking how well services are working for students and families.
- Encourage continuous improvement in educational access and outcomes.
WHO WE ARE
Parents of children with disabilities and special educational needs are the heart of Local Task Force 29. Alongside parents, our membership includes:
- Representatives of the Schuylkill County Intermediate Unit 29
- Representatives from local school districts
- Representatives from community agencies
- Concerned and interested citizens from our community
